The coating of metal products, both welded and seamless, with zinc allows you to extend the service life for years. Seamless galvanized pipe is characterized by increased strength and durability compared to welded. It has the most diverse application: in pipelines, heating networks, the chemical industry, the production of metal structures and furniture.

Benefits of Using Galvanized Metal Products
During galvanizing, the resulting coating allows protection against corrosion, since it oxidizes faster, protecting the inner layer.
Cast iron elements are galvanized using hot galvanization when they are immersed in a bath with zinc melt at a temperature of 450º C. This procedure allows you to get a product that can withstand pressure up to 25 atm and three hundred degrees centigrade. It can be used in heating systems, for water supply and gas supply.
Steel elements are coated with zinc using two methods:
- Hot galvanizing.
- Diffusive. In a special powder container, zinc atoms are deposited on a steel product at a temperature of four hundred degrees, penetrating the intercrystalline lattice, forming a strong alloy. Galvanizing steel products by the diffusion method allows them to provide double protection. Unlike other metals, galvanized steel is provided not only with an anti-corrosion coating, but also with electrochemical protection.
Seamless galvanized pipe, as more reliable than welded, is in demand in urban infrastructure systems and, especially, in regions where climatic conditions place high demands on resistance to corrosion. Seamless galvanized stainless steel pipes provide long-term safe operation of the constructed structures.
Note! When using seamless galvanized pipes, it is important to remember that when connecting using steel fittings, additional corrosion protection must be installed. This is due to the fact that a violation of the corresponding protective layer occurred in the threaded area.
The use of seamless galvanized pipes
Pipelines, where reliability and durability of the system are required, are built using thick-walled seamless galvanized elements. The higher cost of such products pays off with the advantages that provide seamless galvanized pipes.
For thin-walled round products, the application is simply incredibly wide:
- for pipe wiring, when cables are laid inside products made by special technology that does not require tightness;
- in automobile, ship and aviation hydro and pneumatic systems;
- in house heating systems;
- in high pressure pipelines;
- in light and stable building structures;
- in the furniture industry and the manufacture of designer products in high-tech style.
Such a wide scope of thin-walled round pipes is determined by their:
- ease;
- strength;
- resistance to aggressive environments and mechanical;
- frost resistance;
- tightness;
- aesthetic appeal.
Seamless boiler pipe must meet special operational requirements, it goes through a flaw detection procedure without fail. Therefore, it is able to withstand high values of pressure (up to 98 atm) and temperature (up to five hundred degrees). In addition, steel for boiler equipment is different:
- ductility;
- resistance to scale formation;
- anticorrosive qualities;
- low propensity for graphitization and aging.
One of the subspecies of boiler pipes is chimneys, reaching forty meter length. They are carried out according to individual projects, undergo additional processing of the inner surface in order to increase thermal stability.
The gas industry, despite the spread of high-quality and low-cost polymeric materials, is not going to abandon the use of gas seamless pipes. Their high cost pays off with the possibility of long-term reliable operation in the most severe climatic conditions, even in the Arctic zone.
Thin-walled capillary stainless pipe
Capillary stainless pipes are characterized by properties such as high corrosion resistance and high resistance to aggressive chemical environment. They are designed for stable connection of pipeline parts with different pressure levels, ensuring reliable operation without the use of moving units and parts, additional add-ons.
Stainless capillary products (soft and caked) are used:
- in instrumentation, aviation and aerospace industry, nuclear energy - especially thin-walled;
- in instrument making, electronics, medical industry - nickel-based steel;
- as structural elements in the chemical and machine-building industries, power units of swimming and flying ships - especially finely walled ribbed, made of titanium alloys;
- like bellows in aerospace engineering - multi-layer especially thin-walled;
- in the production of caustic soda - from pure nickel;
- in active acid-base and high-temperature environments - heat resistant on a nickel basis.
Important! Based on the specific conditions of use, stainless capillary products are selected to the required length and made of alloys with certain properties. It is allowed to bend up to three millimeters per meter.
The length of the marking of a stainless capillary pipe is as follows:
- measured - up to four meters with a tolerance of 15 mm;
- short measured length - up to four meters with a tolerance of 15 mm and a regular 5 mm allowance;
- unmeasured - 30 cm;
- in the bays - up to one hundred and sixty meters.
For products delivered in coils with an outer diameter of up to one millimeter, the main condition is the absence of sharp bends, because then damage will soon appear, making operation impossible.
Seamless galvanized pipe is of high cost. Despite this, it was not replaced by products from polymeric materials. The explanation lies in the extreme reliability and diversity of the assortment of seamless galvanized pipes in demand in various fields of human activity. Products made from different metals and alloys are used to perform complex specific tasks.
