One of the important issues that arise when installing plastic pipelines is the choice of the correct fastener. For PVC water pipes this is especially true, since the material tends to expand when exposed to elevated temperature. In such cases, using a rigid metal fastening of products is inefficient, and sometimes even dangerous - channel deformations and accidents are possible.

Application of supports for PVC pipe
Connecting with each other, PVC pipes form a long construction. The system may lose strength if it is not fixed. Therefore, when installing an above-ground, above-ground pipeline, support is necessary.

Types of fasteners for plastic pipes
The most common building elements intended for fastening plastic pipes are divided into clamps (clips) and ring brackets (clamps).
Clips are made using special equipment with the mandatory addition of artificial nylon fibers. Thanks to this synthetic substance, the holder of PVC products acquires the following properties:
- high degree of resistance to fluctuations in temperature indicators;
- increased strength and resistance to mechanical stress;
- ease and low cost;
- simplicity and clarity of the installation process.
Mounting in the form of an annular bracket is rational if the PVC communication elements have a large diameter, as well as if the pipeline is designed to transport heavy substances. Such a holder is characterized by a higher level of reliability than plastic pipe clips.
Structurally, the mount is made in the form of a fixture in the form of a bracket working after tightening and having a screw mechanism. The inner rubber ring provides reliable protection against vibration when moving heavy and bulky masses. If oscillatory movements appear in the system, then the holder reliably fixes the pipes in the initial position.
Features of PVC pipe clips
Elements in the form of clips allow installation of any complexity. With their help, you can attach pipes to such surfaces:
- from drywall;
- from a brick;
- concrete screeds.
Clips are applicable not only in everyday life, but also for the installation of industrial structures.For their quick installation at the base there is a special hole for a standard wall plug.
The main characteristics of the product are as follows:
- diameter of the fastener of the elongated element: from 1.9 to 3.1 cm;
- leg size: 4.5 cm;
- outer ring sizes: from 2.4 to 17.0 cm;
- inner diameter: from 2.0 to 16.2 cm;
- part lengths: from 1.75 to 2.3 cm;
- ring size: 1.9-3.1 mm.
The main difference between clips and staples is the presence of locks on the sides, which allows you to install elements for the simultaneous installation of a large number of structures of the same type.

The dielectric properties of the part guarantee complete insulation. Clips can be fixed with a hand tool. Larger construction usually uses fast assembly mechanisms. An automated tool makes it possible to perform 2-3 fixations in 1 second.
Choice of distance between holders
For PVC pipes, the distance between the holders depends on the temperature of the liquid that is transported through them and the diameter of the products. The corresponding values in centimeters are given in the table.

In general, the holder is placed as follows:
- for products with a diameter of 20 millimeters, the interval is 80 cm (for cold working environments) and 65 cm (for hot environments with a temperature of 60 degrees or more);
- with a cross section of 40 millimeters - 95 and 110 cm for hot and cold water, respectively.
Pipes with a diameter of 110 mm and more are fixed with a distance of 185 and 160 cm when transporting cold and hot water, respectively.
Rules for installing fasteners for PVC products
The fasteners for the PVC pipe (support, bracket, clips, suspension, etc.) are installed only after dividing the axis of the pipeline, as well as determining the installation locations.
Note! When channeling, the displacement provided by the project or slope within the limits of 0.002-0.005 per meter of pipe in the direction of carrier movement must be maintained.
When using a fastener with a rubber gasket, the force of its compression by the clamp should not lead to radial deformation of the PVC channel by more than 0.8%. For a vertical section of the pipeline, the support is installed under the connecting element on the pipe.
External channels with a considerable length are recommended to be installed on a solid base. Horizontal sections of internal pipelines, which are located in places with an ambient temperature (or substance) of not more than 30 degrees, it is better to mount on free-standing supports (brackets, pendants, brackets). If the indicated temperatures are above 30 ºС, then on a solid foundation.
When constructing the pipeline, the compensating ability of the parts should be fully applied. This is largely achieved by the selection of a rational laying pattern and the correct arrangement of fixed fixtures.
How to fasten a PVC pipe
To fix the pipes using a holder of various sizes in the form of a clamp, the following steps must be taken when laying the trunk:
- markup execution;
- designation of locations of fasteners;
- obtaining holes for coupling the carrier base and mounting;
- installation of mounting brackets;
- fixing of PVC pipes.
A holder such as clips is available in various sizes. When selecting, it is taken into account that its inner diameter should be equal to the outer section of the pipe. You can use double clips to lay parallel branches.
Rigid fixation of plastic products provides for the mandatory tightening of bolts and other screw fasteners. They give immobility to parts and the entire network as a whole. It is also important to carefully read the instructions for details and perform all the necessary processes specified in it.
If there is a system of floating mounts for plastic pipes, then a certain distance (2-3 millimeters) is left to ensure unhindered displacement of the structure. The channels should not be adjacent to the surface of the building structure (the required clearance is at least 20 mm).
Using an almost universal holder in the form of supports, clips for fastening a PVC pipeline, it is quite easy and quick to lay communications. At the same time, there is no need to attract specialists, purchase equipment and tools, as well as possess some special skills and knowledge.
