In addition, one of the main areas of their application is domestic water supply. But in any case, with the only significant caveat: the temperature of the working medium should not exceed + 45 ° C.

In the modern market, such products are present in a wide variety. Their classification is based on 4 criteria.

Pipe size. Three product options are possible here:

• with a large diameter: the value of this parameter exceeds 225 mm;
• with an average diameter;
• with a small diameter.

Bending radius. The larger it is, the more flexible the pipe will be needed. In total, there are three types of ductility of pipes:

Below is a list of mandatory measures, the failure of which can lead to poor-quality bell-shaped connection of pipeline components.

• The need for preliminary cleaning of the smooth end, as well as the bells of pipes and fittings from sand, dust and dirt during installation is very important here. In addition, it will be useful to check the correct location of the rubber ring. In the socket, this element should be positioned so that there are no bulges and deflections on it;
• before starting work, from the smooth end it is necessary to chamfer at an angle of 30 degrees;
• the ring in the socket and the smooth end of the pipe are lubricated with silicone grease or liquid soap. Immediately prior to installation, check that there are no contaminants on the mating surfaces. The smooth end is inserted into the socket to a depth determined by the mounting mark, in compliance with the alignment of the connected communication components.

Socket pipe assembly is manual. This process is still not automated. Therefore, often there is a need for improvised tools. These may be:

• the device, the design of which includes a hand winch with slings or clamps;
• jack;
• scrap.

Installation should be carried out carefully, but at the end of work, the position of the o-ring must be checked.

Features of the assembly of the pipeline from adhesive pressure PVC pipes

Installation of water supply and wastewater pipes can also be done with adhesive bonding, called “cold welding”. In this case, a special adhesive is used. It should be noted that this method is not suitable for all PVC products, but only for those that were made from chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (abbreviation CPVC).

At the preliminary stage it is necessary:

• inspect pipes and fittings for defects;
• check the quality of the glue (whether it is suitable for working with the pipes you have, evaluate its fluidity and find out the expiration date);
• pick up the necessary tool.

For the installation of a PVC adhesive pressure pipe, the first one that comes to hand should not be used. Expert recommendations in this regard are presented in the table below.

Install the pipeline from adhesive PVC pipes in the following sequence:

1. Cut pipe lengths to the required length. To get a quality cut, it is best to carry out this operation using a pipe cutter with rollers.
2. Using shaped cutters, remove the chamfer at an angle of 15 degrees. If this is not done, the adhesive may scrape off the fitting. And this will violate the reliability of the connection.
3. Measure the length of the fitting. After that, put the mounting mark on the pipe end.
4. Using Primer, a rag or a clean cloth, remove any grease, dirt, etc. from the end of the pipe and fitting. Allow surfaces to dry completely.
5. With an applicator or brush (its bristles should be coarse), apply the adhesive, evenly distributing its layer on the outer part of the adhesive PVC pipe and on the inner surface of the fitting used.The brush size must be no less than the radius of the parts to be joined.
6. Insert the pipe into the fitting. Lock it first and then crank it a quarter turn. So inside the joint, the glue will be distributed even more evenly.
7. Remove excess surplus cold welding material from the outside of the bonded adhesive products.
8. Allow the junction to fully form. That is, the glue must completely dry before the installation of PVC pipes begins. The duration of this process is a derivative of two factors: this is the pressure exerted on the joint and the ambient temperature.

Pipes can be cut both manually and with a special tool

At an air temperature exceeding + 10 ° C, the minimum drying time is 5-10 minutes. When the temperature of the atmosphere is below + 10˚С, you have to wait at least 15-20 minutes.

Note! The use of primers is necessary not only for the purpose of cleaning the surfaces of adhesive pipes. This will help to prepare the elements to be properly joined so that they are better saturated with the cold welding substance. Only then the formed joint will be strong and reliable.

If in the future the connection is not planned to be subjected to hydraulic tests, regardless of the pressure exerted, the dimensions and diameters of the PVC pipes, the drying time should be at least 60 minutes. If the tests are carried out, for any pipes and fittings included in the categories up to PN16 inclusive - at least a day.
